LEX ASTRA ACADEMY IO 299 / Industrial delivery assessment Lex Astra · School of Applied Industry Teaching edition 2956.3 / Live practical ———————————————————————————————————————————————— LEARNER WORKSHEET For mining or Salvage candidates completing their chosen industrial route. This is a private working copy. Downloading submits nothing and records no completion. Use exercise identifiers, not private player information. ———————————————————————————————————————————————— SESSION DETAILS Learner identifier: ____________________________________________________________ Instructor / assessor: ____________________________________________________________ Session date / agreed role or variant: ____________________________________________________________ Vessel, configuration and equipment: ____________________________________________________________ LIVE build / capability test date / tested by (if practical): ____________________________________________________________ Stop signal / recovery contact / communication arrangement: ____________________________________________________________ ———————————————————————————————————————————————— PURPOSE Complete a mining or salvage delivery and explain the quantities and decisions from start to finish. COURSE CONTEXT The industrial capstone requires the extraction or recovery crew, carrier and receiver to agree on the same material record. It does not collapse the two elective skills into one award. ———————————————————————————————————————————————— ENTRY Complete: IO 250 Complete one of: IO 208, IO 240 Assessed roles: Salvage — IO 208; Mining — IO 240 Equipment: Equipment for the completed elective, a receiver and an observer. ———————————————————————————————————————————————— CASE: A delivery whose receiver changes halfway 1. Select Mining with IO 240 evidence or Salvage with IO 208 evidence. 2. The original receiver accepts four case units; after work begins, an alternate offers space for three. 3. The fourth unit needs a checked storage or deferred-work decision. No extra capacity is assumed. ———————————————————————————————————————————————— TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND GAME SKILLS An end-to-end mining or salvage operation Practical instruction revision 1 / 9 October 2026 Demonstrate production personally Choose the Mining or Salvage emphasis already studied. The mining learner reads a deposit, controls a fracture and selects fragments; the salvage learner inspects a target, controls scraping and manages processing storage. A successful sale by the group cannot substitute for the candidate’s own tool handling. Use a small enough initial target that the complete chain can be observed. Solve the downstream bottleneck When the receiver or cargo capacity changes, stop production before buffers overflow or inaccessible cargo accumulates. Count material still in the tool buffer, packaged aboard, committed to refining and ready for collection separately. Choose between offloading, a smaller next batch and suspending production using the real handling and transport capacity. Close with the actual transaction Carry the selected output to a suitable receiver and verify the accepted amount or sale. Keep unsold or uncollected material in the asset record instead of assigning it the expected cash value. Include fuel, processing and handling costs and explain the difference between expected yield and observed delivery. PRACTICAL DRILL Complete one small production-to-receipt cycle in the selected emphasis. Reduce the planned receiving quantity midway and require a feasible adjustment, individual equipment observation and a reconciled financial account. OBSERVED-SKILL CHECKS Individual mining or salvage control is observed in the selected emphasis. My action / observed result / assistance / evidence reference: ____________________________________________________________ Live, simulated or unobserved: ____________________________________________________________ A capacity change is resolved before further production creates an unmanageable load. My action / observed result / assistance / evidence reference: ____________________________________________________________ Live, simulated or unobserved: ____________________________________________________________ Recovered material and cash proceeds reconcile without treating inventory as sold. My action / observed result / assistance / evidence reference: ____________________________________________________________ Live, simulated or unobserved: ____________________________________________________________ Apply the technical checks in the agreed role. Discussion and simulation do not certify live handling; Crew Support evidence does not confer Pilot qualification. GAME REFERENCES The linked pages were read for this revision. Community references mix release eras; each source note identifies what is used and what is excluded. Technical explanations below are an Academy synthesis, and drills and performance checks are Academy-designed. Before practice, compare the named actions with the installed LIVE build and actual equipment. Bind actions by name rather than copying old default keys. Research is not an in-game validation. Historical prices and proposed Orion specialist systems are excluded from the practical. Star Citizen Wiki — Salvage https://starcitizen.tools/Salvage Component recovery, hull scraping, fracture, disintegration and material processing. Official LIVE release check: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/patch-notes ———————————————————————————————————————————————— METHOD 1: Choose the route you have demonstrated Select Mining or Salvage using your completed elective. Confirm the equipment and receiver for that route. This assessment connects the stages of a delivery; it does not award the other industrial skill without observing it. Start the industrial account at the decision to commit resources, not at the sale screen. Explain why the selected Mining or Salvage route fits the equipment, crew and receiver. State which quantities are estimates at departure so later differences can be interpreted as changed information rather than automatically as operator error. Practise: Brief the route and show the matching elective evidence. Ready when: The selected route matches your preparation and the checked equipment. My action and observed result: ____________________________________________________________ Evidence reference: ____________________________________________________________ ———————————————————————————————————————————————— METHOD 2: Keep custody through a changed plan Link recovery or extraction, storage, movement and receiving in one log. When the destination changes, check capacity and access before sending the load elsewhere. Tell the current custodian and new receiver what is moving and what is not. At a receiving change, recheck the whole remaining chain: custody, route, access, acceptance and any revised price or processing assumption. A nearer destination is not necessarily a substitute market. Preserve the original plan alongside the revision so the assessor can trace why the new movement was feasible when it was authorised. Practise: Complete the delivery with a changed receiver. Ready when: Your observed actions keep custody clear and use a workable, acknowledged receiving plan. My action and observed result: ____________________________________________________________ Evidence reference: ____________________________________________________________ ———————————————————————————————————————————————— METHOD 3: Explain the final account Compare the initial estimate with actual recovered and received quantities. State remaining material, known costs and assumptions. Support each difference with the log, including work deferred rather than completed. Present the account as a reconciliation of states, not one success total. Explain what was produced, what remains in custody, what was accepted and what value is still conditional. The final defence should identify the largest uncertainty and the next action that would reduce it, using the actual observations from this attempt. Practise: Present the ledger and answer questions about each difference. Ready when: Every quantity is received, still in named custody or unresolved with a next check. My action and observed result: ____________________________________________________________ Evidence reference: ____________________________________________________________ ———————————————————————————————————————————————— WORKED DECISION A Mining candidate changes the sale point, records the changed price assumption and reconciles the load. The assessment remains Mining, not a Salvage qualification. 1. Confirm the selected skill and agree the quantity record before work. Keep the planned four distinct from actual output. 2. On the receiving change, verify three-unit acceptance and decide whether to stop output, hold stock or defer movement of the remainder. 3. Reconcile actual output, three-unit receiving capacity and every unit left elsewhere. Explain the decision and label the completed emphasis correctly. ———————————————————————————————————————————————— YOUR EXERCISE Run the chosen end-to-end route and defend the final ledger. Include the changed receiving arrangement and any material not delivered. WHAT CHANGES The receiving point changes after recovery or extraction begins. My decision and reason: ____________________________________________________________ ———————————————————————————————————————————————— YOUR WORKING RECORD Chosen emphasis / prerequisite evidence / equipment ____________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ Actual output / storage / carrier / original and revised receiver ____________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ Received / still held / unresolved / cost assumptions and decision ____________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ ———————————————————————————————————————————————— CHECK YOUR REASONING A clean final total hides a load left behind. Is the account complete? My answer before consulting the explanation: ____________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ ———————————————————————————————————————————————— EVIDENCE TO KEEP Individual observations, an end-to-end ledger and a Mining or Salvage debrief. Criterion 1: The selected route matches your preparation and the checked equipment. Individual evidence / finding / assessor's reason: ____________________________________________________________ Criterion 2: Your observed actions keep custody clear and use a workable, acknowledged receiving plan. Individual evidence / finding / assessor's reason: ____________________________________________________________ Criterion 3: Every quantity is received, still in named custody or unresolved with a next check. Individual evidence / finding / assessor's reason: ____________________________________________________________ ———————————————————————————————————————————————— FINDINGS AND NEXT ATTEMPT Demonstrated: observed work meets the criterion. Further practice required: an observed gap needs a specific practice task. Interrupted: conditions prevented valid assessment; not a failure. Not assessed: enough evidence has not yet been collected. All three criteria need individual evidence. A team result or quiz cannot replace an unobserved practical. Practice variant for a fresh attempt: Use a carrier capacity reduction while keeping the receiver available. Reassess only the affected planning or custody outcome. My next practice task: ____________________________________________________________ Review contact: ____________________________________________________________ ———————————————————————————————————————————————— COMPARE AFTER ANSWERING No. Include the quantity still at origin, its custodian and the next decision. The account must describe the whole task, not just the portion that reached a receiver. ———————————————————————————————————————————————— SOURCE AND EDITION Case IO–4: the incomplete delivery /academy/archives/cargo-case Applied Industry case issued by CDR Tobias Wren in 2956, drawing on the 1968 Neuhaus freight record.
