Graduate Programme in Command / 2956.3

Command Studies

Command candidates arrive with a completed specialist assessment. Their task is to direct work they cannot perform alone, recognize the limits of an order, and remain answerable when the original plan can no longer be carried out.

Programme of instruction

CT 301 · Hybrid

Delegation and the watchbill

Arrange a watch around actual availability and transfer a task that the next leader can carry out.

CT 320 · Tabletop

Mission design and operational risk

Design an operation with a measurable result, checked dependencies and clear decisions to hold or stop.

CT 340 · Tabletop

The command conference

Chair a planning conference where fleet, industry and civil concerns change the plan when the evidence warrants it.

CT 380 · Hybrid

Adaptive leadership and incident review

Recognize when a plan has failed, redistribute the work and write a review that leads to a specific correction.

CT 399 · Hybrid

The Crucible

Lead a linked operation across briefing, changed conditions and watch relief, then defend your decisions to an independent panel.

Award requirements

One completed specialist certificate or an independently approved equivalent outcome portfolio, with evidence reference and reviewer.

Reasoned command recommendation or independent entry review; no insider sponsor is required.

Independent Crucible panel finding; no automatic commission, rank or permissions.

All mandatory outcomes require individual evidence. Reviewed prior learning maps to the same standards; historical completions retain their curriculum version. Practical outcomes cannot be replaced by a quiz or tabletop discussion.

Before you begin

No ship purchase, real medical screening, donation or prestige rank is required. Arrange a role-appropriate practice task and equipment access. Guided study is divided into agreed bounded sessions around actual player availability.

Pilot and Crew Support variants remain distinct. Non-pilot participation is available where the assessed role permits, without implying pilot handling competence.

Assessment, review and appointment

Assessors record each outcome as demonstrated, further practice required, interrupted or not assessed, with reasons and a targeted next task. An independent reviewer handles contested decisions under the Academy Ordinance.

Academic completion is not an appointment, commission, real-world qualification or grant of software permissions. A programme certificate lists demonstrated roles and any emphasis; practical readiness is checked separately after relevant game changes.

Contribute to this field

Help design exercise injects, maintain assessment material or assist an experienced session organizer.

Faculty eligibility requires subject competence, observed teaching and independent review—not merely a fictional office or prior rank.
