Great Hall: handover to the teaching offices

The Great Hall enters Academy use with instructions for lectures, assemblies and the movement of furniture.

Custody

The hall is handed to the teaching offices for lectures and assemblies. Works retains responsibility for access equipment, lighting and repairs. The officer booking an event is responsible for returning the room to its recorded arrangement.

Uses of the floor

Examination tables are to be counted before and after use. Keep the central passage and exit approaches clear even when additional seating is requested. No school has a permanent claim on the front rows.

After ceremonies

Remove temporary fittings before the next teaching watch. Report damage to the floor or lectern when it occurs, not at the next annual inspection. Ceremonial use does not suspend the building’s ordinary access arrangements.
