Register of instruction and commissions / volume I

Attendance, examination, and commission shall be entered separately. Completion of instruction does not by itself authorize command.

The examining faculty will record the candidate’s assessment and any condition attached to a recommendation. The appointing authority shall enter the commission against that recommendation.

Corrections are to be dated and initialled. An earlier entry shall remain legible.

The electronic catalogue shall carry the volume and entry reference, the date of commission, and the appointing office. If the catalogue and this register disagree, the registrar will suspend the disputed entry from certification until both records have been examined. No candidate shall receive a second commission merely to correct an indexing error.
