CIVITAS / INSTITUTIONAL BANKING
Banking for your organization
Operating accounts, project funds and working capital for organizations in the HLN network.
Accounts for the work you do
Keep an organization’s operating funds, project allocations and reserves in separate accounts. Each fund has its own statement and spending controls. Personal member balances remain in the member’s name.
Treasury opens an institutional account against the organization’s registry record and appoints its first account controller. The controller then appoints signatories and sets their authority.
Open institutional banking →Payments and member business
Prepare individual payments or a run of up to twenty recipients. Issue invoices and dues to Civitas members, or review expense claims submitted by your organization’s members.
Every outgoing payment needs an independent signatory. Larger payments require two. Neither the requestor nor a recipient can approve the instruction. Funds and limits are checked again when payment is posted.
Recurring instructions
Weekly or monthly payment runs can be prepared for review or authorized for automatic operation. Automatic posting follows Treasury’s current controls, fund settings and signatory authority.
Officers can prepare due payments manually when automation is paused. Missed periods are not collected through a series of catch-up debits.
Project and working capital finance
Submit the project, requested advance and repayment plan for Treasury review. A written offer records the principal, fixed charge, term and agreed number of advances.
After a borrower signatory accepts the offer, Treasury releases each approved advance into the project’s Civitas fund. Repayments begin after the final advance. Accepted terms stay on the record.
